How to prepare for your first mentorship session

The students who get the most out of a session walk in with one specific question, not a vague hope.

An open notebook and pen ready for a session

Before your first session, write down the single most specific question you have. Not "how do I break into finance" but "I have two internship offers, one at a boutique firm and one at a larger bank, which should I take and why."

Bring the actual documents. If it is a resume review, bring the resume. If it is interview prep, bring the job description. A mentor working from something concrete can give you something concrete back.
